i think the twins are plotting against us…. they have been practicing their battle cries (ie. they have learned to screech for the fun of it) and have been having secret meetings under the cover of darkness (they are waking up hourly thru the night)
i guess this is pay back for making them try bannanas!

the first two weeks....
of course, written days after the 2 week mark cause, really? when do i have time??? as it is i am typing one hand while colin sleeps in the other….
so, here it is…. the two week review of what mom and dad learned about taking care of twin newborn preemie boys…..
*they say every pregnancy is different…. at this point i am questioning if i actually had human babies, cause...
I still cant believe they are here.....
A week ago today, i was tear filled and in pain, wondering how i was gonna make it a few more weeks carrying these boys…. never realizing that in a few more hours i would be at the hospital, pre-eclamptic, having an emergency c section, and waiting 27 long hours in recovery waiting to see the boys in the NICU. After all this, i still look at these two beautiful boys and wonder in amazement...

Week 35 growth check with the fetal specialist today reveals that Colin is measuring at 6lbs 12 oz and Alex at 7lbs 7oz! And while i am thrilled they are healthy, i am not so sure mama is going to physically and emotionally survive this adventure. The specialist is now recommending the previously scheduled 38 week c section (Alex is breech still) be moved to the 37 week mark. My OB appt is on...

Ok, so yeah, everyone does…. but between the entire IVF process, the infamous two week wait, each appt, each ultrasound, etc…. and being prego with twins the due date has always been a vague concept. The first goal was to make it to 26/28 weeks to feel safe that just in case i went into labor, the boys...

I had the appt with the maternal fetal specialist yesterday, and it went quickly since the boys were both awake and active…. they are both doing well, practicing their breathing movements and amniotic fluid is sufficent…. and that is all they had to say. Altho, Alex flipped again, he is now breech, AGAIN, so it looks like mr. calm is just messing with mama...

Yep, its official… these baby doctors i see are a bunch of unempathetic meanies! I have almost 11 pounds of baby inside me at only 32 weeks…. i am in pain, have to monitor everything i eat (so screw my prego cravings) thanks to the whole diabetes thing, cant breathe, cant walk…. they cant even give me one ounce of empathy. I have been working on my pharmacy ce’s this morning, trying to get them done for the year before the twins are born and i forget all about them…. and the boys have been kicking the crap outta me all morning! It seriously feels like they are trying to claw thier way out Alien style…. I honestly think they are protesting!

I feel the same way…. i am so very uncomfortable and i will sacrifice whatever it takes to bring these boys into the world healthy, but damnit i cant take anymore… i am so ready to have these last few weeks over with and hold my babies in my arms!
